Summary
Kaskaskia Engineering Group, LLC (KEG) provided civil site design services for an existing campground at Burdette Park in Evansville, Indiana. Burdette Park consists of a 170-acre park and recreation area, which features an Aquatics Center, BMX Racing Course, Campground, Fishing Lakes, Miniature Golf, Tennis Courts, and Playground. The park is located along Nurrenbern Road in Vanderburgh County, Indiana.
Project
Burdette Park campground includes 27 existing camping sites. All the existing sites include water and electric services. Of the 27 sites, 15 of them also include sanitary sewer service. Amenities at the campground site consist of a playground area, ADA restrooms with shower facilities, nature walking trails and sidewalks, and pavilions with barbeque areas.
KEG was responsible for providing a topographic survey of the existing campground area, as well as preparing construction plans and specifications for the expansion of the campground. These improvements contained the addition of eight new camping sites, sanitary sewer service and a lift station for the existing and proposed campsites, and an asphalt overlay of the existing campground roadways. The plans included an overall site plan, a detailed grading plan, erosion control protection, storm sewer drainage, and construction details. KEG also prepared water and sewer permits for local and state agencies.
