Summary

The River Edge Redevelopment Zone (RERZ) program was created by the State of Illinois to stimulate the safe and cost-effective development of environmentally challenged properties adjacent to or surrounding rivers using tax incentives and grants. The RERZ Program is designed to achieve its goals through the use of several incentives authorized by State law.  Two of these – sales tax exemption and property tax abatement are administered by the local zone administrators.

Project

Kaskaskia Engineering Group, LLC (KEG) worked closely with City officials and the consulting firm, Economic Development Resources, to prepare existing and proposed legal descriptions and exhibits for the application for the new zone boundaries in order to comply with the State of Illinois and the Department of Commerce and Economic Development (DCEO).

KEG has also provided legal description services for the following projects:

  • City of East St. Louis – State Street Business District
  • City of Belleville – Enterprise Zone
  • City of Belleville – Our Lady of the Snows Shrine Annexation
  • City of Belleville – Missionary Venture Business District
