Summary
Kaskaskia Engineering Group, LLC (KEG) contracted with LSE Architects of Minneapolis, Minnesota to develop preliminary site plans for the development of a mixed-use building known as Satori 800, encompassing the 800 block of West Broadway in Minneapolis. The building is planned to be six stories tall, with 112 new apartments and over 13,000 square feet of retail space available on the first floor. This site is intended to be the first phase of an $85 million redevelopment project which will bring new residents and businesses to an important historic district.
Project
KEG’s services included the preparation of site plans suitable for approval through the City of Minneapolis’ Project Development Review (PDR) process, including grading and drainage, landscaping, and pedestrian and ADA accessibility plans, as well as parking planning for 40 surface lot parking spaces and 45 underground parking spaces. Challenges included updating sidewalks and adjacent street access to meet current ADA accessibility standards, minimizing surface area dedicated to stormwater management facilities, and providing cross-access for vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians to the neighboring supermarket and other nearby amenities.
