Summary
Kaskaskia Engineering Group, LLC (KEG) partnered with Quadrant Design Architects to prepare comprehensive development plans and contract documents for a new addition to St. John’s Lutheran School in Red Bud, Illinois. The project entailed the expansion of K-8 classrooms including library and media room, renovation of administration offices, cafeteria and kitchen expansion, daycare facility classrooms, modern gymnasium with locker rooms, additional parking accommodations, natural landscaping features, new sidewalks, and a curb ramp that complies with current ADA accessibility standards, and new outdoor recreational amenities.
Project
The project team worked closely with the school administration to assure the project was carried out to meet the school’s expectations. KEG prepared existing boundary and topographic survey measurements to ensure the proposed improvements encompassed the existing land use site. KEG also provided building demolition plans and specifications, a stormwater management plan that satisfied the Local agency’s requirements, reviewed existing State and Local building codes for compliance, and coordinated with utility providers and MEP consultants to assess and determine the relocation of the school’s utility facilities, and prepared soil surveys and reports to define the constructability of the proposed structures.
KEG assisted Quadrant Design to establish cost-effective value engineering procedures and processes; shop drawing approvals for civil-based services; and providing planning, programming, and evaluations for future school requirements and desires.
