Summary
Kaskaskia Engineering Group, LLC (KEG) was contracted by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to oversee the construction of a new structure carrying US 136 (Jackson Street) over IL 336, west of Macomb; the construction of a detour runaround (construction contracts 68A40); and the construction of a new structure carrying Adams Street over IL 336, one mile north of US 136 (construction contract 68A41).
Project
KEG personnel provided Phase III engineering services, including a Liaison Engineer, engineering inspection technicians, supervision, materials testing, materials certification, and all documentation for this project. KEG and its subconsultants performed nuclear density testing on embankments, subbase, and subgrade; dynamic cone penetrometer tests; inspection of bridge painting; and a survey to verify benchmarks and check contractor layout stakes.
KEG completed final measurements, calculations, and contract records and submitted them to the IDOT Resident Engineer. KEG also provided Quality Assurance oversight for the Contractor’s Quality Control.
KEG staff worked with the Resident Engineer/Technician to complete this project on a timely basis and in accordance with the State Specifications and Guidelines.
